Re: Help with Canted Coil
Doug Seibel Jul 14, 2011 6:14 PM (in response to Stephen Draper)There is one on 3DContentCentral:
http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/secure/download-model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=10323
It was make as a pair of sweeps done at the part level, and then brought into an assembly and circular patterned there.
I took the part and created the circular pattern at the part level, here it is.
(btw, this kind of stuff is a workstation-killer...rebuild takes a while.)

Re: Help with Canted Coil
Jeff Mowry Jul 14, 2011 6:20 PM (in response to Stephen Draper)How about this:

You can adjust the number of turns, size, etc. and turn it from a surface into a solid if you like, but I think it will get you what you need. This is in v2010 format.

Re: Help with Canted Coil
Jeremy Feist Jul 14, 2011 6:36 PM (in response to Stephen Draper)here is one that we use - you can specify the dims like Bal-seal does - though you do have to guestimate the number of turns.

Re: Help with Canted Coil
Stephen Draper Jul 15, 2011 4:11 AM (in response to Jeremy Feist)Great thanks everyone for your suggestions. I had seen the 3dcontent central part and I had done similar stuff myself, but i was trying to avoid doing any patterning - though I don't think its possible to achieve the shape in say a single sweep? Thanks for all your feedback
