I am in a sketch trying to convert edges of parts that were inserted using a derived sketch pattern. I can convert the edges of the original part that I patterned but can't on the parts that were patterned. I used to be able to do this in SW 2009 but recently updated to 2011 64bit.
No it is not sectioned. I also cannot select a patterned part on the screen while not in a sketch. I can select it from the tree though.
Can you post images of your feature tree and your sketch?
Here is what I was working on. The reason I was trying to convert entities of patterned parts is I was making pockets in the green part and I was using geometry from the patterned cyan parts to create the sketch. I ended up patterning the pockets to work around this.
So did you end up patterning in the sketch instead of the feature?
You should have been able to do what you are trying to do.
I know there are setbacks to patterning, but this is not one of them.
I ended up patterning the feature not the sketch. Oddly enough I just tried it again and it will now do what I want it too! Must be one of those SW things.
