But what about other ratio's? I find the need to get 1/3 and 1/4's often. 1/4's are not difficult but requires drawing another line. It kinda sucks to have to resort to equations just to do a simple ratio.
look here: http://help.solidworks.com/2011/english/solidworks/sldworks/legacyhelp/sldworks/ref_geom/reference_points.htm
Split the line into however many sections you want and use the Equal constraint on the sections.
It would be nice to have a simple direct relationship like midpoint. A percentage constraint would be nice. Your method will work for simple ratios but can become unwieldy. What if the ratio is 11/64? or 5/32? Common stuff in imperial.
Thats a step closer but seems to be a little overly complex just for doing something almost identical to the midpoint. I guess it's the only way though ;/
It's nice that it has distance and percentage though but it would be nice if we could get a similar relationship for end points of sketch entities like lins, arcs, etc...
Do you know if it's possible to toggle between relative(percentage) and absolute(distance) using design tables? In some cases I would like to set a percentage and others an absolute distance.
