Good day all,
We have the following scenario:
We have an assembly in Solidworks with +/- 2000 parts. We have automated the entire assembly using VBA and Excel with Windows 7. To generate a new design and run it from the Excel and VBA it would take about 10 to 12 minutes for everything to be complete (Parts, sub-assemblies and updated drawings). On Friday (1/07/2011) our desktops automatically downloaded updates for Windows 7. Thereafter the same design would run in excess of 50 minutes to generate. We then did a system restore to get back to before the Friday updates. Then...............back to normal as before (10 to 12 minutes to run the design). We are currently on Solidworks 2011 SP03. Are there anyone out there that might have experienced similar problems or can give us some advice on how to go about resolving this.
Regards.
Chris Botha.
Chris,
Hello. Windows updates often include Office updates. I suspect Bill is "helping" you out with an Excel change. Check to see what was in the update for hints on what is being changed and also make sure it's not running into a situation where something terrible like WDS is running as a result of the change.
