The orientation view dialog box is off the top of the window. I am unble to grab it and move it back onto the window. How do I get it back on screen? I have Solidworks 2008 SP1.
Copy settings should be at Windows Start>All Programs>SolidWorks>SolidWorks Tools>Copy Settings Wizard. Make a full backup of your SW registry using this tool.
After doing that, go to Windows Start>Run>RegEdit. Find the registry noted above. RMB and Rename. Use a name something like "SolidWorks 2008 backup"
If the world seems to have ended upon launching SolidWorks again, go back to the registry and if a new section is created with the name "SolidWorks 2008" (which is the goal here) delete it, then rename the section called "SolidWorks 2008 backup" to "SolidWorks 2008", and you should be right where you started.
If you see some of the dialog, you should be able to grab any of the border and wiggle it, and that should bring the title bar back onto the screen. If not, try wiping your "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2008" section of the registry by renaming. You will loose your toolbar and hotkey customization, so do a Copy Settings Wizard first (SolidWorks Tools, in the SW program group).
How do I find the HKEY location and the copy settings wizard?
Thank You Brian, you have solved my problem. Les
