We recently had Windows 7 installed, and Solidworks 2010 was reinstalled. I now am having trouble with assembly mates. Previously, I could right click the mouse, either when building the assembly, or while Mates was selected, and I could select from the drop down list, to rotate the assembly. This option is no longer available and I am having trouble setting things up to make this available.
What am I missing?

Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to work with this installation. Is there a way to configure Toolbars so I have permanent access to the icon that allows assembly rotation? The way is was previously setup?

I would check your mouse settings to make sure the thumb wheel
is set to the "middle mouse button" setting. If it is not that could
be your issue.
Seems like you talking about Mouse Gestures.
Go to Tools > Customize > Mouse Gestures and make sure Enable mouse gestures is selected.
You can also use keyboard functions to rotate your models.
Arrow head keys will rotate a model by 15 degree (this can be changed under Tools > Options > View > Arrow Keys)
Shift + Arrow head keys will rotate a model by 90 degree

Thank you all for your help. I'm afraid though that things are no further along! Mouse gestures are enabled, and I also had our technician reinstall the mouse software. The middle wheel works fine in other applications, but I still cannot rotate the assembly while within a Mates session.
What I really want is to have access to the rotate assembly icon at all times. Its available on a right mouse click when mates isn't selected. Does anyone know how I can put the icon on the toolbar at the top of the screen?

Is this right. Why it has turned off I dont know, i will investigate.
If you are talking about this command or any command for that matter,
RC on the top toolbar and select customize. Then go to the commands
tab find the command and just drag it over to the toolbar of choice.
Have you tried holding down the wheel on the mouse? This gives you model rotation within commands.
