i have a part model wich has numbers engraved into it. how do i turn off the lettering in the 2d drawing?
Attached is one quick example.
The file has two configuration: One with text and other without text (i.e. having the cut feature suppressed).
suppress the feature?
Find the feature in the feature manager and either suppress or hide the
how do you "Hide" a feature?
in the drawing browser when i hide the cut extrude feature wich made the text it turns off the whole model and leaves the text.
Try suppressing it like Paul suggested. I never use hide and it did the same for me.
Not sure why it would do that. I always use suppress, but through it out there as an
option for you since it is there on the menu options. I guess through process of elimination we wont use hide anymore.
Whenever you hide a feature in a model, it hides the body to which it is attached (you can see that when you hide any solid body type of feature in your model tree), so you hide the entire body by hiding that particular feature in your drawing. Because you text is cut into the body, SW just goes ahead and approapriately hides the entire body since the cut is part of that body. As mentioned, you need to suppress that feature.
now thats an idea, since the part has 3 drawings, an extrusion drawing with no text or holes drilled, a machine drawing showing the cut to length, holes, and the stamp wich is the text i am trying to turn off in the extrusion drawing, and finally an assembly drawing. i will simply do a configuration for the extrusion drawing.
Oooops.. Somehow missed this reply !
Have 2 configs of the part.
One with the text suppressed, one without
