I am a new to the forum and modeling so please bare with me.I like to create polygons for big radius bends so they can be bumped on the pressbrake.The polygons create individual bend lines that can be unfolded in flat pattern .My question:is there a way to make more than a 40 sided polygon.Why is that the limit?
Want to know why solidworks does not let you create a 72 sided polygon
I cannot answer that. That is a question for the creators and programmers.
I have your model open. I am confused. What about it are you trying to create
72 sides from?

This is a current limitation of SolidWorks but your create your desired polygon by sketch tools manually
DraftSight allows making polygon with more sides.
you can use linear circular pattern and use equal space option
I see that Ahm has already mentioned this. The circular sketch pattern does get it done. I am surprised also that there is a 40 segment limit with the polygon tool.

Are you also looking to create custom bend radii for the sheet metal bends?
