what is the simplest way to generate a 3D spline from XYZ points and then measure it's length?

I have to measure the length of wire bonds in small optical/electronic assemblies. These wires are not banjo string straight, but wander around in all three axis a bit.

Typically they end up being anout 2 mm long. I measure 9 or 10 points from one bond end to the other, using a toolmakers microscope. My scope does not have any data output, so I have to write the XYZ values down by hand.

I would like to find a fairly eady way to enter them into SW 2009 SP3 premium. I have tried putting them into a CSV document and then using the scan to 3D function, but I always end up with a straight line.

My goal is to know how long the wire bond is.

Thanks in advance for any help.
