Could someone please tell me how to populate the selection menu with one's own profiles? Or, if this is not where to find them, then how to go about it.
I am experimenting by creating a raised panel door.
I created a rectangle the size of my door and saved it as a part.
I created a frame profile and saved it as a SLDLFP in C:\ProgramData\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2011\design library\
I have tried a couple other locations, but I can't get them to show on the drop down.
Anyone?

Make sure only one location exists under File Locations > Weldment Profiles.

I was able to get it to work by moving my custom folder to the top in the locations dialogue.
I had a number of problems like James did in the thread you linked to. I just couldn't get the L to appear. I was finally able to get it to show by opening and closing the file.
New question:
What is the standard practice for creating profiles? How does one know which way to lay it out so that it travels with the correct orientation? See second attached picture. The blue line is my path -- it defines the outside of the door. You can see that the profile is not aligned incorrectly, it should be like the red hand sketch orientation-wise. Using the Mirror Vertical Axis option works, but it is still facing out the back, not the front. Can this be changed or does one just have to flip the door around? or should one just edit the profile? I was hoping there was a layout practice that said create it below the origin or above the origin to get this or that. Hope this makes sense. Any ideas?

in the weldment properties box, you should be able to use locate profile and angle to achieve what you are looking for.

I don't know if it's pertinent to your situation or not, but I have noticed that newly added weldment profiles don't show up in the drop-down until I have shut SW down and re-started it.
