When I open my scratch directory, the option is set to see assembly files. How do I change this to see "part" or "all files"? I have seen it default to "part" files, but I'm not sure why this happened. I want to be able to change the default. I've tried changing to "part" files and saving and closing SW and reopening but to no avail.

Why can't there be a simple toggle in preferences?

No, an option to do this has not been added. Although, I did look and it has been reqeuested through the Enhancement Request system.
