Hi all,
I am trying to do a fly through render, I am having problems trying to get it to work. I did manage to get to work but I can't recreate what I did...
-I have a part which has a 3D sketch of the camera path (just a basic circle on an angle).
-I have a part which is acting as a sled
-The part acting as the sled is mated to the 3D sketch using "Path mate"
-I have set the Percent to 0%
-When in motion study I move the time line to 10 seconds and modify the path mate percentage to 100.
Now at this point the sled should move along the path from 0% to 100%. This would mean the part would do a complete loop however it isn't.
Has anyone else come across this issue?
Regards
Two items to look at:
First, why are you using a camera sled instead of just attaching the camera to the circle? For a simple case like this, there is no need for a camera sled, instead you can position the camera by attaching the camera location to the curve (select Position by selection and then select the circle) and you will have the same ability to position based on % along the curve.
The second point is if you use the camera sled and a path mate, make sure that the other two path mate options (Pitch/Yaw Control and Roll Control) are set to "Free". If they are set to anything else, SW does strange things and the motion may stop, fail to solve, or jump between points unexpectedly. This is an old bug that's just never been fixed.
