My company happily uses Solidworks. However, over the last few days our performance has hit the floor. All speed in general is very slow compared to the beginning of the week. Is there a test at this site, or another site somebody here can reccomend to diagnose our issue?

I remember seeing some infomercial that had online PC speed testing.
I don't remember if this was it, but it might be.
I don't really know what TO look for. I have a back ground in IT and i've done all the checks i've been trained to do. Our performance is just dropping. Maybe the hardware is starting to die is the conclusion that I have come to.
Thank you for the suggestion though, it made me think of another check I can run.
Can you post what your hardware is and what version of SW along with the
service pack you are running is?
Is it just SW that is slower or all computer functions? Where are your files stored? Server or local?
All applications were grindingly slow. Solidworks was so slow you could individually count rebuild processes 1 by 1...
We are working with a pretty big model, but the Firefox and other applications are running a bit chunky too.
The system has already been restarted, which did not seem to help.
What kind of maintenance do you do on the systems? ie. clearing temp files, defrag, reg clean, dust blow out, etc...?
Makes me suspect that the processor fan quit and the processor is throttling back in order to not overheat.
Or bad RAM module.

How many systems do you have that are acting like this? Were they all purchased at the same time?

You can compare your results with the posted results of others, and therefore get a good idea of where you stand.
I found the performance test in Solidworks. It was interresting to see how it performed.
I used the Solidworks Rx to diagnose any issues and it reccomended updating our graphics cards. This helped a good deal. Performance has been restored by roughly half in Solidworks, and the rest of the programs on the system run like new.
Good Old Rx. I have used that in the past and I never thought of it for this,
but like you said it gives you what you were looking for.
I was very impressed. Solidworks has left a sour taste in my mouth more than once but the Rx worked far above my low-expectations.
