Sheet 1 has assembly with an exploded view and balloons; there is also a BOM of the exploded assembly. The following sheets have the parts (1 to each sheet) contained in the exploded assembly on sheet 1. I would like the BOM to have a column that states which sheet each part is on, yes I can do that manually but is there a way make this happen automatically?
That functionality is not built into SolidWorks. You would have to use the API to do it.

The only other way I could think to do this is to create a custom property
for each sheet number and then ahve as many columns as sheet numbers
to handle this. This seems clumbersome as well, but like wayne said,
no way other then to create a macro for it.
