Simulating a pressure pulse though a closed volume

Question asked by Brendan Labrecque on Jun 2, 2011

I have a water storage tank that I am trying to simulate a pressure pulse though.  The tank should be a closed control volume in actually, but SolidWorks requires input/output boundary conditions consisting of an inlet flow of some sort and a pressure boundary of some sort.  So, basically I have a pipe instead of a closed volume.  I set up my problem as a transient internal flow calculation and am getting results, but the method is flawed.  Has anybody attempted anything like this?

Thanks,

Brendan
