Hello Solidworks Users!
Is there anyone here can help me? i want to find ways how Solidworks model can be exported to CSI SAP2000 and vice-versa.
I've never used it but I think SAP2000 can import and export DXF and IGES.
Yep found this online: http://sap2000.org/isap/Export_IGES_igs_File.htm
SolidWorks can import IGES files.
and also: http://sap2000.org/isap/Import_IGES_File.htm
SolidWorks can export IGES files.
Thank You Timothy!
I'll try this steps. I'll get back to you and see if it does makes any difference.
Thank you Timothy for the input, Yes SAP2000 can save its file to different format especially dxf and iges so does solidworks.
But there seems to be lacking on my process because when i open originally SAP model saved as DXF and IGES it displayed nice when saving it back to dxf and iges SAP2000 from SolidWorks to SAP seems not finding any model/entities on the model space( just call it model space, it's actually the drawing area where drawings are displayed).
I found builtworks while browsing the internet but its kind of expensive after buying SolidWorks have to spent another again just to do more software integration with other analysis software.
You may want to check the options for exporting IGES 5.3 you may be missing something there.
