I've been encountering some Chinese error messages while working on assemblies or drawings when it crashes. I attached one of them. Is there anyone who can understand what it means? I'm using English language on Solidworks.
I don't, but you may want to uninstall solidworks and clean out your registry then reinstall
and make sure you don't select chinese as any form of any language.
Is this only hanppening on this one file or is it happening with others as well?
Have you tried this file on another machine?
Hi Scott, it happens randomly to any file especially large files. It is not a big deal but quite annoying. It might just be random characters which means nothing. I think...
I am sure it means something. I have never seen anything like that. I know you said
this happens randomly, but if you can some how find the sequence that causes it, use thw
Solidworks Rx tool to capture it then send that to your VAR for them to forward on to Solidworks.

It doesn't necessarily mean anything. There was once a discussion about this error message, that has been seen for years, where a Chinese person replied that what was written in that error message was gibberish - just random characters. One of those bits of code that is told to report what's happening at the point of crashing, and that chunk of RAM that is supposed to hold the useful info contains random characters instead.
Is this some form of corruption, virus or bug?
Thanks everybody for the response. I guess I'll just monitor this if it ever happens again. Keep you guys updated.
I've seen this, and have been able to get SW working again by renaming a section of the registry. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks" gets renamed to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks_[todaysDate]". That way if there is no improvement, I can always recover the old section of the registry. This has worked for me in every case where the Chinese dialog is displayed. Others have said renaming has no effect, but I've not had it fail to improve a situation.
