I have an animation, that I can view using the reciprocate button, but is there a way to save the animation after it has reciprocated back to the start position?
SW 2010 Education Edition
No you can't do that but create reverse animation steps after you normal steps and then save as AVI.
Thank you, I was hoping not to have to mirror everything as it took me a long time to get it initially, but it actually was pretty painless.
Creating the reverse is easy. Once you have all the keys set for the forward direction, do the following:
Highlight all the motion keys (just drag a window around them in the timeline)
Hold CTRL and drag all the keys to the right, beyond the last of the original keys and then drop them. This creates a copy of all the keys.
With all these new keys still selected, right-click any of the selected keys and click Reverse Path from the list. This mirrors all these keys.
As all the mirrored keys are still selected, just drag them all right or left until you have the spacing you need between the forward and reverse direction.
So, it litterally takes a couple of seconds to do it.
Thank you! That is great to know for next time, I had no idea you could do that. Here it is if your interested.
Thanks for the Tip Jim
That tip and many more can be found in the book "Creating Animations with SolidWorks", published by SolidWorks and available from the SW Store: http://store.solidworks.com.
