I want the part/assembly custom property, "Part Number" to populate the balloons. When I click Insert Annotation, Balloon, Balloon Text, Custom Property, I only get the SW-.... properties. I cannot get the model custom property, part number, to show. How can I get the custom property Part Number to populate the balloons?

Two things:
Do a force rebuild (ctrl + Q)
OR
Make sure you have the properties set under the custom tab and not configurations tab in the parts.

Is it possible that you have all of your properties in the configuration specific area?

For some parts in the assembly, there are configurations with configuration specific custom properties, including Part Number.

Are the properties you are looking to display in just the configuration specific
tab, the propties tab or both?
I am going to suggest that if these properties are not in the properties tab they need to be for this to work.

Thank You for sharing the steps that you did. I just updated my drafing standard file and drawing templates. I can now place ballons with my custom property already set!

I've noticed that the balloon must be placed first, and then changed to a custom property (as in the video that Deepak posted).
If you try to change to the specific "custom property" before placing the balloon, you only get the Standard SW Properties from the drop down menu.
