HI, I need help with something that must be simple. How do I insert more than one of the same component into an assembly. I have multiple fasteners and want to put them in and then mate them. All I can get is one in at a time. Could you tell the the steps?

When you go to Insert Component, click on the pin at the top to keep the command open, then when you select your component you can drop as many as you need.

A couple of options here. First is the fastener being insertes in a pattern - if so you can insert one and then add an assembly pattern. Another option would be to use a feature driven pattern, this is a nice option because it derrives the pattern from the hole feature in the part, thus a future change to the part will automatically update the fasteners in the assembly. Final option if patterns will not help - insert one, fully mate it. Then RMB and select copy with mates, this will allow you to repeate and/or replcae mates as needed, and insert as many copies as needed.

You can pattern them. Ctrl C Ctrl V or set them up in your design library and keep dragging them over.
Using the push pin and pattern mates are excellent examples. You can also drag the part into the assembly, creating the mates at the same time.
You have to tile the windows so you see both parts. Then select the edge of the part to be mated and drag it into the assembly and onto the hole. Takes a little practice, but it works. I think its a left over from the days of using mate references to speed up assembly. (which is still there I think). See attached jpg.
