How do I send a model that has DimExpert annotation to our supplier who does not have SW? I added my annotations and they are displayed on various views and I would like to print these views to a PDF as a single file. Thanks for any help.
Save as --> PDF
This option does not allows me get all the views in one file.
What PDF printer are you using?
Can you explain more or show images of before and after creating the PDF?
Are you not able to change the sheet size in the PDF printer?
Have you tried eDrawings?
I did not use PDF printer because the instruction earlier was to "Save As PDF". We have not set up any 3D Printer and I'm using Adobe Professional for creating pdf files. No I have not used eDrawings. Not sure if the supplier has eDrawings.
After creating the e-drawings open them and resave them as e-drawings exe files (save as option in e-drawings). That way there is no need to install e-drawings on the machine to view these files. Just click and open.
Your supplier could download eDrawings. It is free. Or you could send the supplier a self-executable file which has eDrawing embedded in the file. A separate install of eDrawing would not be required.
Printing to a PDF printer is basically the same as Saving as PDF. Some people have better results using a PDF printer.
As Deepak suggested, a drawing with all required views would do the trick.
An alternative if you don't want to create a drawing is to go to Window > Viewport and select Four View, and then make a screen shot. The screen shot could be given to the supplier as is, or it could be converted to a PDF in Acrobat or suitable image editor.
Thanks for the input
Will try all the options but I was trying to stay away from creating drawings and have the supplier wrork direct from the model. The eDrawing option might be my best bet.
You have two ways:
1 Either make a drawing, out views there and then save as PDF
2 Save the Isometric view or multiple views from part file as PDF or JEG so that is displays the required annotations and then join them into one.
