When working in Solidworks I go to the File>Open menu to open a file. Everytime I browse into a vault view the view defaults back to List, I want it to stay on details. Am I missing something? I have to change it to Details everytime I go back into the file open dialog. Please help. I'm using Solidworks 2010 at the moment. All of our users are having this issue.
I use the drop down menu.
Just to be clear, it does remember my setting in normal folders, except when I'm inside an EPDM vault view.
I'm out of ideas - it stays in detail view for us when we browse to the vault folders. so it should be possible for you.
Oh - we are on XP 32 bit, so the OS may be different.
We also use XP 32 bit. Are you using Solidworks 2010 or 2011?

Did you try applying "Detail" as default view type?
If no try this. in Windows7
1.open a folder and put the view to detail.
2.go to Organize -> Folder and Search Optionss
3. click on view tab
4.Click on "Apply to folders"
for xp:
1.open a folder and put the view to detail.
2.tools -> folder options -> view tab->apply to folders

what method do you use to set the veiw type?
I hsv seen it not "remember" your choice if you change the view type by the right click menu, but I have not seen problems when using the drop down...
