How to check the shear force of a 30mm Diameter Shaft? I need to know the force to break a round shaft with 30mm diameter. Can i get the data from Solidworks?
Using SolidWorks Simulation you should be able to find what you are looking for. You can create a study, asign material properties, setup up your study and run then gather the results that you need.
You don't need Solidworks to do the (perhaps a bit over-simplified) calculation on this. You have the shaft area, you must have the max permissible shear stress of the material therefore the first guess must be the result of one divided by the other. Not the 'real' solution, but it should get you to the right ballpark. Sorry don't have any time to give you more help.
Me no expert, but bear in mind that the rate of application of force will be a large factor in determining the failure of the real shaft.
