I have created some welds on my solid assembly model. Is there a way to show those welds on the 2D drawing? I am using Solidworks 2011
I have had this same issue. After talking to my VAR they told me I need to use the insert model
items weld. The one marked catepillar. SW hasn't quite perfected the drawing part of the welds yet.
Are you wanting to se the actucal geometry or an annotation like the caterpillar symbol for welds?
To see the caterpillars you can use insert model items and select eh annotation for welds.
I may be wrong on this part but I am thinking that the actual weld is just cosmetic in the model. There is no geomertry to see in the drawing. There are two different types of welds though. There is a weld bead and a fillet bead. The fillet bead will actually show the geometry of the bead in the drawing the weld bead will not. In the picture below the model has a fillet bead on the left and a weld bead on the right. You can see the fillet bead but not he weld bead.
If you are using the weld bead you might look into the caterpillars.
You can insert weld symbols via model items.
Had the same problem and after a long talk with our VAR, who talked to SW, the weld appearing on the drawing is supposed to be a crital fix and I also added an enhancement request to make the weld met more usable so you could use color properties and the like on it and render it. FYI.
can you post a link to the enhancement request here so we can add our inputs as well?
