Is there a way to show an angular dimension as the "Want This, png" file shows, which was achieved with AutoCAD?
The "Not This.png" file shows the result I got with SW 2011 sp3. I couldn't find a way to "flip" the dimension.
Thanks for your help.
Use the three points starting at the point and then then two end points. see the attached video
After selecting the two lines move your cursor to the right before placing the notation.
Edit: No, I was wrong.
That didn't seem to do right for me.
The placement of the extension lines is the same (left side) but the text now shows in inverse of the angle.
Thanks for the quick response.
Sorry about that first one.
You could sketch 2 lines coincident with your existing lines and dimension to them. It may be tedious, and there may be a better way, but it will work.
windows media player 12 (on win 7) can't play this avi file.
Is there any special codec that I need?
Check if you can run this.
Good trick. It is works even for 3 points w/o lines or line and point.
Deepak what do you use to record your screen shots? I use camtasia and have no trouble viewing the avi on my end but sometimes like this time some people cant view my videos.
I use snag-it which is real easy to use. If you google snag it by techsmith
you can download a 30 day trial and use it to see if you like it.
thanks deepak for sharing your knowledge with everyone
I'm not sure. I use camtasia and export video out as AVI. I am also using WIndows 7 and media player 12 and works fine on this end.
I've found the most robust codecs are supplied by Techsmith.
Your answer worked like I wanted.
The only problem was after picking the first two points, it shows the text and arrows of the dimension (as expected)
it makes it hard to pick the 3rd point because the text is blocking my view of what's under the cursor.
But I did manage to find it. Thanks. Your answer is marked correct.
No problem. I have had a customer call in with that exact questions before. Glad i could help.
