I'm trying to convert this part into SM but having a hard time. I was able to create the part from scratch in SM as you can see in Import1 Body and in the second attachment. The reason I want to convert the solid part is because I would like to use the Solid Body to calculate the internal volume of the part. Also I want to have the option of modifying the solid body and have the SM part update and still have the option of calculating the volume using the updated solid.
It converts just fine for me. I did however delete your split line to make the bends less complicated.

Thanksf or helping but as you can see, the converted part did not flatten properly as it has interference. The Sheet metal part I posted in the original post does flatten out with no interference as you can see in the pictures. I was having similar problem when I try to convert the solid part reason for me asking if this can be converted.
Wow, can't believe I didn't bother to check the flattened part. Sorry about that, a quick change of one of the bends eliminates the interference.

I was able to create the cutout using your technique and also was able to add flanges after converting to sheetmetal.
