Is there or what is the best way to show decals in the bom. basically i have a products that i need to attached decals which need to be shown in the bom also. The images in the decals have codes which can be identified. Any help would be great.

Thanks for the answer, its kinda the path that i've already started to go down, making a paart attaching the decaland saving as the part number to show in the BOM. Possibly in the future de assault may create a solution to this. Again thanks for your help.

At least it is a solution that gives you the results you are looking for.
Another point that I would add is that unless you are putting shaded views in your drawings the decals will not show up. They will show up in your BOM, but not on the drawing view. I have actually modelled decals before because I need them to show up on non-shaded views in my drawings. This is time consuming but it is the only way that I've found that really works.

I'm using SW 2011sp4.0 standard and I do'nt see a option for setting the illumination to constant?
Is it my version and do you mean that by "fixing the problem" that you were able to have the decal show up in your drawings in an unshaded view?

Hi Dan,
Welcome to the forum.
Decals in and of themselves alone cannot be listed in the BOM parametrically.
The best way I can think of to do this if you want it parametrically (automatic)
is to insert this decal into a part with no geometry (just places and axis). Save
it out as the file name you want represented in the BOM along with filling out
the custom properties. Then insert this part into your assembly and it will show up
in the assembly drawing BOM.
If you don't care about it being parametric then just add a line item in the BOM
by RCing on one of the lines and select insert a row. Then just type in the decal
