Can anyone tell me why my toolbox lists a screw length of 13mm instead of 12mm in length? Its on all metric screws. Is there a way to change these back to being correct? Last time i check i didnt know there was such a thing...but i could be wrong.
Because that is representing a 1/2 in size that converts to 12.7
13 is the rounded up version of 12.7
I gave up using toolbox a long time ago. I just download my fasteners from Fastenal now.
Well I "borrow" toolbox screw configurations and rename them for my own purposes, so i change it to 12mm anyway. I always thought SW was really running in metric anyway...seems strange that they convert metric hardware from inches.
You are not seeing a 13mm length because it is non standard. Metric screw lengths run in the series 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 to 50 in 5mm steps, although the range of this series is dependent on the screw diameter.
Edit: Sorry Brad, misread your post!
Works fine here as required. A 12mm metric screw is listed as 12 mm and when measured the value is 12 mm. So I doubt there is some issue with your toolbox.
Can you run a quick repair of your toolbox? Can you check if someone has edited it by mistake? Can you upload 2-3 offending toolbox parts to check?
