Does Not Show "Part" Filetype on Open

I ran across an odd problem recently with my SolidWorks.  When I click to open a file, the open window defaults to showing assemblies only.  I often want to also see the parts that are contained in the folder so I click the filetype box to change to the setting that allows it to show both parts and assemblies......but it is not even there in the list anymore.  In order to see the part files I have to click on "all files".  What happened to the normal filetype setting?

I don't know if this really related or not...but I just recently upgraded from 2010 Pro to 2010 Professional........I noticed this issue shortly after that.

I attached a screen shot showing the filetype list only has Assy and Dwg (for SW files anyway - all the other types remain in the list)
