I would like to mirror a hole in a part and be able to make it non dependent. I see references to doing it for a part, but can it be done for a feature in a part?
No, The mirror feature will always just stay "mirror". The only way to create a copy that is mirrored and that can change independently, is to just create a new hole.
No, unfortuantely like Charles says you can't. However, I've been wanting the availabity to get mirrored and patterned holes 'dissolved' into independend hole wizard holes for a long time now. I see this giving users a whole lot more freedom in special machine design. I think I'm going to create an extensive enhancement request....
You can copy the hole feature and use it in case you don't want to run the process again and keep it independent of original.
Hey Deepak, you could do that but I'm thinking in terms of the longterm overall benefit. For example, if there is an assembly or drawing already made I would rather have an option to 'Dissolve' patterned and mirrored holes into an independent hole wizard because that way it wouldn't cause assembly or drawing relationships to go bad or dimensions go dangling.
So yes, the band-aids are nice but I'm looking ahead to the remedy.
