I am trying to add decals to a part, but when I do they show straight through to the other side. How do I prevent this?
hmm. Have you selected just the face of the part you want to apply the decal to or the entire part? You should just select the face you want to apply it to.
Is your part a cylinder? Are you using projection mapping?
the Part I am putting the decal on is just a flat rectangle and yes I am using projection mapping
Try switching the mapping type to label.
I dont seem to have that option, just projection, spherical and cylindrical
That worked perfectly, thanks!
Rob, is there a way that I can do that in an assembly? When I pick a face, the model jumps int Edit-in-Assembly mode, and I can only pick a face on one part.
The message I get is:
"Decals cannot be added or edited other than on the component in Edit Part or Edit Subassembly mode."
Is there a way to avoid the problem of having the image showing on both sides of the parts and still work in an assembly?
Decals can only be applied at the part level. If a decal is applied to a part it will show in an assembly. If you want to position your decal relative to something in your assembly...........Apply it at the part level and then edit the decal while in the assembly.
selecting the face worked for me. Thank you so much. Also note that I had to open the part file, I was not able to do it in assembly file.
