I just got an e-mail from 3D Connexion support, shown below, that fixes the issue with the dynamic highlight turning off while using a 3D connexion device.  See the notes below and the instructions.

Made the update to the driver and turned it off in the registry.  So far I have not had any issues with it turning off or causing any other issue.  It is really nice to be able to use the Space Navigator again without it turning off dynamic highlight every couple of minutes.

I apologize that you had to wait. The issue with the "Dynamic Highlight" is a complicated one. The development team tried to find a workaround. This workaround is included in the latest release of our software which is 3DxSoftware 3.13.0. Please go to our download site

(

http://www.3dconnexion.com/support/software) and get the latest version.

Then please follow the instructions from the development team:

*|--------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 3DxSolidWorks v. 2.19, a Registry option was added to prevent the add-in from disabling dynamic

highlighting on 3D mouse motion.

To prevent the add-in from disabling the dynamic highlight, users can change the value of the Registy

option.

1) Start SolidWorks with 3DxSoftare v. 2.19 and close the application;

2) Open the Registry editor and go to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion Add-In for SolidWorks\Options

3) Set the value of "DisableHighlightOnOption" (REG_DWORD) to zero (0x00000000);

4) Restart SolidWorks: add-in should no longer prevent the application from dynamic highlighting

parts.

Please note that this is a workaround and changes to the registry are done on your own risk. We would appreciate if you give us a feedback for this solution.
