I have created a wire mesh panel with five different configurations for the various sizes I need in my assembly. I began by sketching out my sizes, making single diamond shaped cutouts and then using linear patterns cutout the entire sheet to give me the 'see through' wire mesh. This worked well, but the file size is 65Mb and is dreadfully slow when updating, saving and inserting into assemblies. Is there a 'lighter’ way of modelling wire mesh?
