Not complaining, just asking
SolidWorks will continue to support Workgoup but will spend nothing on improving it. There has been no significant changes to Workgroup in years.
I don't want, nor do I need, all the functionality of Enterprise. My company already uses another PLM product for company wide management of documents, workflow, BOMs, ERP integration etc. I just want a product that is integrated with SW and manages SW source files. We've been using Workgroups for years and have had problems with tempermental searches as well as other issues. Does anyone know of another product that will provide the same basic functionality as Workgroup but is current and thriving and employs a relational database versus the flat file structure of Workgroup? Attention Baker Ave: If you want us to switch over to Enterprise, offer a Lite version and develop a Workgroup to Enterprise migration tool. $50K is what our VAR was asking to move us from Workgroup to Enterprise. YIKES!
