I cant do .jpg pictures anymore in SW 2011, SP2. All other file formats i can do save as but not .jpg.
Anyone have a suggestion?
JPG SaveAs is possible for me in part, assembly & drawing modes. This is using SW2011 SP3.0, but I'm sure that this is not a SP3.0 'feature'. If you can't sort out the problem and are desperate to get an image out of SW, use the Capture tool or PrintScreen then paste into Paint & edit.
What exactly is it doing or not doing? Is it listing jpg but not
working or not listing it at all?
You like Keith suggested a program like Snagit or to the print screen.
The file just doesnt show up at all regardless of folder i save as in... I cant remember when it began to happen but it just suddenly stopped working. I havent got the problem before it started 1-2 months ago.
Can you save the file as a bitmap then call it up in paint or a similar program
then do a save as .jpg?
I know this is a lot of work, but it might be a short term solution.
You may have a bug that needs to be reported.
And as you said, the file doesn't come up which means you're able to save the JPG. Do you have any other JPG on your machine. Are you able to open it up? Check what program has been set to open JPG.
Run an antivirus on your machine to make sure it's not a virus making your file hidden or delete automatically. For a test, create a blank folder and save you JPG in that folder (containing no other file). Check the folder size before and after.
Yes i have plenty of other .jpg´s from solidworks that shows and opens perfectly in Windows Photo Viewer, the problem just happened suddenly.
I have tried creating a new folder and do a save as in that still no jpg file. And the folder size stays the same, 0 bytes. I cannot do a save as bmp file so that is really not an option. I am trying to run a virus scan now, but not sure if it will work.
By upgrading to SP3 it works again :S So it seems like it was a bug in SP2...
congrads, glad you got it figured out.
I would be more likely to believe that your SP2 installation got corrupted. If it had been a bug in SP2, there would have been a lot of posts about it, not just yours. But who cares, it's fixed!
I have the exactly same problem. I am currently using 2012 sp2.0 Trying to run repairing now. hope it will fix it.
I'm having the same problem with SW 2012 sp3.0. I seem to recall having a similar problem with SW 2011 that was fixed with a SP udate. Screen captures would work, but would prefer just to do a save as...
you can alway run a repair of your SW install to see if it fixes the problem instead of waiting for the next SP.
sometimes a windows update or installing different software will throw glitches to other softwares on your machine.
Yes, repairing the installation fixed the problem. It took me two passes to repair though, as it is neceesary to have the original installation disk in the drive when repairing (even though the installation disk is for an earlier SP). The first pass (where I inserted the disk when prompted) ended in faiure, the second pass succeeded.
