I am trying to design a 3d water drop for a company logo. Tried doing it freestyle & it looks poor at best. Any ideas where a guy can get a good model or scetch to use in SW. Thanx Dwayne
Open a sketch on a reference plane (front) and insert your logo as a sketch picture into a sketch (TOOLS>SKETCH TOOLS>SKETCH PICTURE).
Open a new sketch on the same plane (front) and use the spline tool to trace around the water drop eye balling the location of the spline points around the edge. Note you will have to fine tune the number of spline points, location of spline points, curvature, etc. Use the control polygon, curvature combs and other tools to get the best curve you can.
Draw a vertical line at the center and to a revolve.
See the attached file for example its not 100% smooth but you should be able to fine tune it to your liking using the various spline tools.
Here is kind of the shape I am looking for. Thanx
I would think that you should be able to draw a centerline, then
draw a circle then draw an angled line tangent to the circle then you should be able to revolve
it into a 3D water drop. Or am I missing something and you
are looking for more then that.
If so can you post an image of exactly what you are looking for?
I tried that, but it looks like a lumpy pregnant blob. Just not happy with it. I did post a JPEG of what I am looking for.
Thanx to all. David, your fix worked for me. Thanx Again. Drip
