I've been fighting with this for a few days now. In preparing for my CSWP test, I'm working through some past exam packets, and this door knocker really had me!
In the attached model, its Sweep2, but basically, we have half an ellipse, swept 50mm along 2 guide curves.
The thing is, all these sketches need to be fully defined - and dimensions are given for both ellipses, and radii for the guide curves.
Like anyone, I began by sketching and dimensioning one profile, adding a sketch path (to define my offset plane), then my second profile. I then add and dimension my guide curves, with pierce relations to the ellipse nodes. Everything is fully defined.
But no combination of these sketches will produce a Swept Boss/Base feature. Try it for your yourself!
But, if you remove the dimensions from the sweep profile - voila! It works!
In my model, I've made the dimensions driven in order to convey the dimensions given.
But the problem here is that my sweep profile is no longer fully defined!
It's possible to fully define the sweep only by breaking external sketch references, reordering the sketches, then dimensioning the guide curves, and re-establishing the pierce relations, but it's totally counterintuitive!
Oddly enough, it seems a fully-defined profile CANNOT BE SWEPT with guide curves, unless defined externally, by the guide curves.
Can anybody confirm or deny this? Any SW tech aware of this?
