Hi,
I'm not able to register the part movement along the path.
I try to move the part, but the recorded movement is like the part is not moved.
Where I wrong ?

Thank you Philip,
but I'm looking for a solution with animator.
In this video it's possible http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUm30f3BNDc.
Alessandro,
I'm afraid I can not find a solution either.
I have tried adding linear motors, changing your path from a surface to a solid, free drag along path, percentage along path, distance along path and more etc but still shows the same result/error.
The percentage along path is possibly the one to work with, but as it gets to circa 50-60% it shows an error stating it can not satisfy the mate as the distance is wrong etc. The problem seems to be only on the corners.
I then made a new assembly with new parts to see if there was an error on your modelling but recieved the exact same results.
This leaves me completely out of ideas. Maybe some one with a bit more knowledge on animation will help you.
Phil.
Anytime you try and go 360 degrees with an animation you run into problems. I'm sure there has to be other posts on this forum about it.
I did something similar a while ago, and used the workaround of hiding/showing the part that is following the path when it reaches a corner. I inserted the part one time for each path segment, then hid or showed the needed part once each respective part reached it's path end, which was the next part's path beginning.
Hopefully the attached will help explain better.
Hi to all, tnx to Mark i move from this post https://forum.solidworks.com/message/217866#217866 to joint to this post
I want check if this Motion Along Path and this one object follow closed loop can help me, then i come back to feedback you.
Thenks to Mark and Gupta tutorial (Motion Along Path)
I think i'm on the right way, let's see what's i do till now my 1# trial and my little goal !!!
Now i want to try to apply this experience on my M1KE project.... keep in touch, i let you know about my progress...
Tnx a lot and see U soon!
ok, as I said, I'm in the right direction,
I tried to reproduce the example of Gupta but I have a problem when I add a second marker (which I need for my presentation): This slider does not move properly and theyellow lines of the "movement" are interrupted ...

You know I mean why?
Where I'm wrong?
Hi folks,
also this year I need to create another "animation along the path",
also this time my yellow lines of the "movement" are interrupted ...
I've read again this post and look at all the example but really dont understand whats i wrong...
Inthe attach you find the same last example where i change only the path, but the yellow line
come interrupted...
I love to learn whats the correct method to do any "animation along the path"
Can you help me again?
... oof ...
I believe that SWX professional does not love me ...
I can not make it move more than a few millimeters ...
every simple movement that I try to do with SWX I find enormous problems that
other users havent ...
I do not understand why the files worked for Gupta,
then changing only the path SWX is no longer able to create a continuous movement???
SWX is able to follow the path but not continuously .... Why? Where I'm wrong?
When I read your answer I had already gone home,
at home I have only swx2011 so I tried to apply the engine in "movimento base" <basicmotion> (in the past I had applied the linear motors, but only at "animazione" <animation> and, as you say, do not it worked).
At home, I applied, the linear motor I got a ride similar to the statute (in my case the yellow line was stopped at a few points).

at home I have only swx2011 so I tried to apply the engine in "m ovimento base" <basicmotion> (in the past I had applied the linear motors, but only at "a nimazione"<animation> and, as you say, do not it worked).
At home, I applied, the linear motor I've got a movement similar to yours (in my case the yellow line was stopped at a few points).
This morning I opened the office immediately to verify your file: I had tried in basicmotion: (
So, at home, if I put the engine I get a straight yellow line NOT perfect,
in the office, if I use your files, I get what you saw in my video: only a few millimeters of movement ...
Now I did some testing on your file (attachment) and I saved a new assembly (video): With this assembly what happens to you?
I am disappointed and disoriented by SWX.....
What else can I try?
The files are attached. It is important to remember that this is a very basic animation that anyone who knows anything about creating animations in SW should know how to do. It is the animation of one mate and the understanding of the "100/360 Rule", both of which are easy and basic. If you are struggling with something this simple, it is time to make an effort to learn SW Animations. There is only one book on the market that covers the subject and it is sold online by SW through their merchandise store http://store.solidworks.com or http://www.Amazon.com. If you try to learn yourself through the "point and poke" method, you will get confused only because you don't understand the concepts. Reading the "Help" will not teach you how to create animations, it only teaches what specific controls do, but in isolation. If you look up the book and think it too expensive, just figure out how many wasted hours you have invested while not getting the answer you were looking for. In the end, the book is cheap.
Hi Alessandro,
Do you have 'Motion Analysis'?
If so, you can simply add a force to the block which will push it around your path.
Please see attached.
