i have an assembly drawing with 5 parts. im trying to edit the font of the bom thru doc properties. only one line item is changing. wtf?
To edit the font for a BOM go to Options > Document Properties > Tables > Bill of Materials.
thats what i did but only one line item would change, so i deleted the bom and loaded it back in and the change was made overall. so i guess to edit the bom you have to reload it every time.
I don't know for sure. Did you try Ctrl+Q before deleting it and reinserting?
Yes, you are right. Because you would have had to selected all of the line
items for the whole thing to change. The settings in that BOM you had on your
drawing was per what it was when it was inserted.
Works for me both ways i.e. Changing from Tools > Options or Directly on the BOM.
I ran into this a while back....
Go to TOOLS>OPTIONS>DOCUMENT PROPERTIES>TABLES and uncheck the box on the front menu for "Use Template Settings". If this box is checked it will use what the settings were in the saved template used to created the BOM.
But how this setting (checking or unchecking) will allow only one row to update.
Its kind of quirky I admit. If it doesn't update the table as a whole automatically simply select the pan symbol in the upper corner (four arrows) and then click "use the document font" (the little folder button with the A in it) from the toolbar button twice to refresh the table (once to uncheck it and twice to recheck it.
But even with the setting on, BOM font is changing as desired using either way.
