How to find in which version SW model is created ?
Check the macro by Josh Brady (handleman) here: http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=215560 if this is what you need.
Hi Ullas !
You mean before opening the file in the SolidWorks ?
before opening or after opening.
i have one file i just want to find in which version its created/saved ?
im usig SW 2010
I would recommend you to save a copy of this file and open the file with Notepad, Make sure you uncheck the option to open this file type.
You would be able to see some junk characters along with the custom properties.
Search for version 2008,09 Etc.
Hope this helps.
I tried this, but its not showing version.
can u read out to me MO_Version in the file which you have mentioned. ?
What is MO_Version ? :-(
I could able to read the following:
Version 2008- MO_Version = 3800
I hope this helps.
i found something like this
ÿÿ moVersionHistory_c C ‰Kÿþÿ 0 ÿÿ moDateCodeHistory_c ƨ 4¬ ÿÿÿÿ
I also could not find the same in the version 2006 or 2007 Files. I hope your file is one of that.
i searched S o l i d W o r k s in notepad it showed me year, but im not sure is it correct or not
You should search like this "M O _ V E R S I O N " (a space between each letter)
