Problems starting PDM Workgroup server

Hi All,

We have PDM workgroup 2009 running on a Netwrok storage device running XP Pro that we use as a server, however it's not an actual server.

Two things have hapenned this year;

  • We lost 2 out of the 4 hard drives (RAID 10) in our NSD so had to do a rebuild and restore all data from backups
  • We 'upgraded' from SWX 2008 to SWX 2009

Since to advent of those 2 things we have had ongoing issues with PDMW.

Every 1 to 2 weeks we get an issue where the PDMW service is started on our NSD, however, as soon as one tries to do anything with PDMW that involves accessing the vault the computer just hangs up, this happens on the NSD as well if I try to log in as an PDMW administrator.

The SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Server service is shown to be started under services. Stopping and restarting makes no difference, restarting the server does nothing either.

Basically all that happens is you get the dialogue box stating the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Server

>please wait while the SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Server is starting

and a little bar graph pulses across the dialogue box.

Does anyone know of anything I can do to get this all a bit more robust?

Thanks in advance,

Hayden
