Hi.
I have a spline which is revolved to make a bowl. Im trying to find the outter most point of the spline from the center, which doesnt fall on a specific point, but rather between two points. Is there a way in solidworks to pinpoint the exact outer most point?
Thanks!
James
James,
I don't know of a way for SW to pinpoint the exact point of maximum width. My work around is to put a line or plane on the outside of the spline, then measure from the line or plane to the spline. Note the measured distance and approximate location. Put a point in your sketch at about the right location. Make it coincident to the spline. Measure the distance from the point to the line or plane. Move the point until you reach the minimum value of the measurement. I usually dimension the point from a line perpendicular to the line or plane of measurement.
