I don't like the standard views for my parts in drafting. I am accustomed to inserting a view and then defining the orientation of the part within the view. Does SW support this?
create a view in the part file by pressing spacebar new view.
That did it! I am unaccustomed to thinking that far ahead. In other programs I detail the part weeks after I have designed it. I was trying to do it on the fly in drafting.
Definately SolidWorks support this..
During editing part mode press SPACE BAR on keyboard and then create new view ,,,
Use either the Orientation section options in the Drawing View manager (LH panel), or the View Palette (drag and drop views) in the Task Pane (RH panel)
