Just upgraded to SW2011 Sp2.0 and when working with assemblies we keep seeing hidden components re-appearing randomly. They are still hidden in the feature tree. Sometimes rebuild clears it sometimes not. Sometimes the hidden components have to be set to "shown" then set to "hidden" again, but it's only a temp fix.
Just wondering if anybody else is seeing this?

Yes same here. Even when suppressed.

I think the problem is with Display States....have a look at that and see if changing it makes any difference. It seemed to cure some at least of the problems we're experiencing.
Yes playing with dispaly states does seem to temporarily clear the problem. But once cleared and the file saved. The problem re-appears next time the file is opened.

We are having a very similar problem. When we suppress a sub-assembly, it suppress it but then unsuppress it immediately (automatic). This is a problem because we have to unsuppress the assembly that is suitable for the specific main assembly and NOT the one that is inserted automatically. The other issue we have is when you click on "Tools", the program unsuppress a sub assembly and then leave it unsuppress. This happens everytime but the software select the sub-assembly randomly.Not good at all!!!

I downloaded SW2011 SP3.0 EV. I then tested my assemblies and this problem is gone. Looks like SW did something in SP2.0 or earlier to affect this and they have repaired it in SP3.0 either on purpose or by accident.

Even when suppressed I get this.
Usually in an assembly, with items suppressed in a sub-assembly.
In the main assembly, items in teh sub-assy are supposed to be suppressed are visible. Yet if you open the sub-assembly, said parts are suppressed..
Shut the sub-assy down and finally it doesn't show in the main assy...
