Whenever I open any "igs" assembly file SW automatically creates .sldprt files for each individual parts.
Please help me how to avoid that.
Thanks in advance
I'm not sure this will affect the importing of IGES files, but got to Tools > Options > Systems Options > Assemblies and deselect Save new components to external files
Making External Components Virtual
This might help out at the time of converting the assembly files, but I am facing a problem while openeing the "igs" assembly file.
1) assume that there is a assembly file which consists of five parts. (in SolidWorks format) - say name A
2) the same file A converted into "igs" - say name A-igs
3) when i am opening the A-igs file it addtionally puts 5 parts of assembly A as ".sldprt " in the same location
please help me to avoid this.
When you save an assembly out as an iges file, in the save as dialog box, under options
there is a setting that says save assembly components as one part.
If you uncheck that box your assembly will come in as seperate parts.
This at the time of converting the assembly files, but I am facing a problem while openeing the "igs" assembly file.
When you open an IGES file, click on the Options. I suspect that you have "Import multiple bodies as parts" checked.
Sorry, this has been unchecked,
Please let me know any other possibilities
In that case, I don't know in other way to change what comes in from IGES. What is it you want to end up with? All five parts in one multi-body part? In that case, you coud save the SW assembly as a part.
Just check screen shots of the auto generation of the files
I hope this info. enough to understand the issue.
Me like Jerry am at a loss on what to tell you.
Can you post any of these files?
I have made some screen shots of the auto generation of the files
please help me to resolve this
