Could someone please tell me how to delete old revision symbols without losing the corresponding table row?

When I add a revision, say Rev C, my revision row in the table appears and then I have the option to place my triangles containing C on the drawing.  All OK.

But when I attempt to delete old symbols containing B the symbol(s) get deleted BUT the B row in the table also gets deleted, which I don't want to happen.
