In previous verfsions of PV360 I could change the color of the Dark Powdercoat (or aluminum powdercoat) and the color would be pretty much what I selected from the color swatch. Now, in 2011 SP 2.0 I seem to get an end result that looks like the original dark powdercoat with a tint added. Selecting white from the swatch gives a result that is dark gray. It looks like there are primary and secondary colors, but the color manager shows only one color. Is there a way to create new powdercoat colors that are the color I want? And where is the documentation for PV360?
Charles,
I was hoping someone with better experience with the powder coat color would respond, but let me give it a shot.
The powder coat color has multiple levels of color (as you have found out). I have quit using it, because I don't think the new appearance accurately reflects powder coating finishes. I use either "spray paint" or "rubber" depending on the finish used. For our nice finishes, I typically find that the Matte Rubber creates a very nice semi-gloss finish that matches our finishes well. I just then need to adjust the color, which because it is a "matte" appearance, is only one color setting.
