It seems to me that the "plot" you get in the thermal simulation is the 3D model, colored to represent the parameter magnitude (temperature, etc.). How can I get numeric data along a line or a plane? Flow simulation allows you to draw a line on the model, and the data from the results is stored and plotted in Excel for the closest nodes to that line . How can I do this with thermal simulation? Thank you.
Hi David: A way I know of, is to develop a "clipping" plane (if you edit definition on a contour plot, there should be a "clipping" option on the sub-menu). Once the plane is sliced through a section, you can use the Probe tool to parse points directly on the section plane. In the PM there is a graphing option so you can develop a trace graph of the variation of temperature along the probed points. There should also be a "save" option on the PM so you can save the numeric data directly and graph it in Excel, for example. Hope that helps!
