How to allow multiple users checkout and edit one file at the same time?
Thanks for your help!
Do Le Vu,
As i have mentioned earlier that in EPDM only one person can check out a file for editing and when the other person opens the file by default it opens as read only, No special setting is required for that. EPDM is designed to work that way.
I hope you understand.
You cannot allow multiple users to check out the file at a same time. In EPDM it allows only one user to check out a file.
"First Come and First Serve basis"
Duh! Read up on "File Locking" in the context of database.
Where can i find it? Thanks for help me.
Google "file locking" + database.
If you help time, please guide me how to do it. I used google search "file locking" + database, but still have headache about it.
Thanks very much
Do Le Vu
Not all of us expect everyone to know what we know. That IS the reason for the forums.
Enterprise PDM is designed to keep 2 people from checking out (taken ownership) of the same file. This is done so people don’t overwrite the work of others. However of person 1 needs to use a file in an assembly that person 2 is working on it doesn’t need to be checked out by person 1. The file can be used in a read only.
How to do it?
Thanks very much, Jeff
Thanks Raghu, now i understood.
