Mates 2011

Working in an assembly file and adding a mate:

Solidworks tells me that to add the mate it will cause mate problems and should Solidworks change mates to keep this from happening.  If I tell it yes.. it screws my assembly up.   If I tell it no the mate is added correctly and I have an assembly that tells me "no solution found" in red until I do a rebuild and then it tells me "fully defined" and everything is fine.  Obviously a SW flaw and this is in both SW2010 and SW2011.  Also, why doesn't that "to add the mate it will cause mate problems and should Solidworks change mates to keep this from happening" dialog box have a Cancel button so I can gracefully exit out of this mate application?

This is the same problem Tom Mathieson was having back in 2009 in this post:

Obviously, it hasn't been solved yet?
